After breakfast Richard and I went to Billy's Seafood Market on the Bon Secour river because we had heard it was good. We wondered how it compared to Joe Patti's Seafood in Pensacola but it was a whole lot smaller and rougher around the edges. Richard spoke to a fisherman who shared stories of how fishing in the area has changed over the years, what the fishing and shrimping is like there and how far they have to go for the various catches.
We ended up coming home with some humongous shrimp that we steamed with Old Bay seasoning and enjoyed with a glass of Robert Mondavi Private Collection Sauvignon Blanc.

Sounds like a fun place. My husband loves shrimp, so I'm sure he would be in heaven. I'm more of a salmon and tilapia kinda person.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen ! They specialize in Shrimp there I think and crab, although they were out of that when we were there...I love all seafood!
